July 14, 2007-LA84 Foundation�� -�� Mt. SAC Cross Country Clinic Agenda

 

The 2008 U.S. Olympic coach for distance events, Dr. Joe Vigil, will
headline an impressive list of presenters who will speak at the LA84
Foundation¹s ³Super Cross Country Clinic² on Saturday, July 14, at Mt. San
Antonio College beginning at 8:00 AM.

The clinic, which will also feature two of the greatest high school cross
country coaches in the history of the sport‹Dan Green of the Woodlands High
in Texas, and Pat Tyson, former coach at Mead High School in Washington‹is
free for all coaches and interested adults who would like to attend.

The clinic also includes a full beginning level cross country
coaches curriculum in addition to advanced instruction as information on
every aspect of the sport is delivered by some of the most successful
athletes and coaches in the nation.

Vigil coached at Adams State University in Alamosa, Colo., for
28 years as his teams won 20 national championships, including a perfect
score in 1992. His students earned All-America a whopping 425 times and won
89 individual national championships. As a coach with the U.S. national
team, he led athletes in 17 international events. The only American coach
invited to lecture and give clinics on all five continents, Vigil was named
national coach of the year 14 times and has been inducted to five hall of
fames.
